Glasgow’s Data Science meetup, hosted by MBN, was on last Thrusday. Vlad Fojtik from Aggreko talked about AI fairness.
He told us about how society values shape the datasets which are then used to train the models, about the 9 protected characteristics as set in the 2010 Equality Act, and the 4/5 rule stemming from the 1971 Griggs vs Duke Power Co in the US, amongst many other things.
I also got chatting to Wilson a PhD Data Scientist at Ofgem and Elies a Strathclyde University Data Science graduate, currently working as a DB Admin.
